Installations using pellet fuel are less familiar to us and may seem exotic or unconventional upon first glance.

But in reality, the functioning of a pellet fuel installation is almost identical to how the more conventional coal, gas or oil systems operate. The future of pellet fuel installations can be glimpsed by examining European examples of pellet fuel set-ups. European installations include a container to store pellets, a burner fed by an automated feeder, a boiler and an exhaust system including a chimney. The hassle of obtaining permits is unnecessary because no volatile substances such as oil and gas are used in the installation. Using a pellet fuel installation also eliminates the need for containment systems. Pellet fuel can be safely stored both above and below ground. This makes maintenance easier and reduces the costs of installation.
                                                                                                                             Changing an existing conventional heating system to burn pellet fuel may be a lot easier than you think. For instance, a heating system using oil, natural gas or coal to produce enough heat to warm a small office building (about 500,000 BTU per hour) can often be converted into a pellet-burning system by simply retrofitting the burner and adding a combustion conveying system and storage receptacle. The boiler and heat delivery configurations can remain the same. Systems using solid fuel like coal or wood are even more easily converted to burn pellets by altering the feed and air supply configurations. And remember, a refined fuel like pellets will always burn cleaner than the same material in unrefined, original form.
                                                                                                                              Indeed, emissions from burning pellet fuel are dramatically less than the emissions given off when burning fossil fuels. And this environmentally friendly efficiency will only continue to grow as research discovers new technologies that further refine the clean-burning capabilities of pellet fuels. In addition to the ecological benefits of using pellet fuels, the lower costs and convenience of pellet fuels make them a wise and popular choice for individuals and the communities in which they live. Waste problems can be alleviated through the use of pellet fuels. Using pellet fuels can also allow communities to tailor their fuel supply to their specific needs.

By using pellet fuels, communities can keep their money within their community by relying less upon foreign energy resources.
